Try using a different tv software like mediaportal or prog dvb, you should be able to use any software that supports BDA drivers

I have an HP premium autofocus webcam. There is something online that I would like to record with it, as I will be unable to watch it in real time because of work. I have roughly 55GB left on my harddrive and I will be recording in 320×240 QVGA format. What length of time do you think I can record with the webcam?
Answer by TOIK
Depending on how many hrs or min it on for..But i reckon 55gb would be enough maybe..its hard to tell tbh cos some software can take in gigs just for 2min like fraps for recording games..Tbh i would try it at that amount of space left.I would also say aswell dont try to fill your hard drive its not a good thing.Hope it works out.

Paid HP for a “Super Recovery” DVD. After 45 minutes it said “Recovery Complete”. It restarted then started a process “Software is being installed”, then showed a windows screen and rebooted again. “Complete” was not right. How many restarts does it take? Will I know it is really done, when it is really done?
Answer by Gregory
I’ve had OEM discs take as long as 3 hours to install. HP’s are among the slower ones. It’s adding all the bloatware and drivers to your computer. It says this after the “complete” dialogue because it’s considered a post-installation job. They should label that better.
It likely won’t take more than another 30 minutes. Don’t cancel the processes to due impatience, the result could be hazardous.

well i have a HP pavillion dv6000 and the remote seems not to be working. Is there any test that i can do to see if it works?or maybe i need to buy a new battery for it?
also i think i’ve only used the remote once.
also where can i purchase the battery??
Answer by Vegangrl
just try the new battery first, they just take the flat watch batteries, very cheap to replace. mine died recently and it worked with a new battery
if that doesn’t work then its broken and contact HP to get a new one or check ebay… you never know if someone doesn’t want their remote
I recently got a new Dell notebook with Vista and I really miss the HP Photosmart Premier I had with Windows XP. I specifically want something with the photo resizing and photo enhancing to give my photos a softer appearance. Can anyone tell me if there is a program out there that I can download that can give me these features?

yes
I just got the Windows 7 upgrade disc and when I run the HP Upgrade Manager it keeps saying that I failed the “AC adapter connected” test. What does that mean, and how do I fix it? Any help is much appreciated!
Answer by _marky_mark_
I’m pretty sure that just means that your computer is not plugged in. The AC adapter is most likely the power supply. If your computer is plugged in and you’re still getting this result then I’m not sure what to tell you.
My HP notebook laptop will not fully turn on.
You see, the lights around it will turn on and you can hear the noise it makes when it is turning on, but the monitor will not show a picture. What should I do???
I`ve tried pressing ctrl f but did not work. anyother ideas
Answer by Nesquick
You probably accidentally turned the monitor off. Press the Cntrl and F# button with a picture of a monitor on it.
You can turn on and off your monitor on your laptop by pressing those two buttons at the same time. Laptops have that for when you use the laptop with another monitor or tv to use as the monitor and it lets you toggle what monitor you want the screen image to show up on. The F# varies from laptop to laptop but it usually has a picture of something that looks like a little tv on it.
I need a HP laptop for daily business, the necessary configuration is supposed to meet fundamental work such as: at least 2G CPU together with 250G hard drive, which series I should focus on and how much it is? With regard to the display size, 13”, 14” both ok!
For your information, I urgently require your help!

HP has an excellent site regarding their products, start at HP.COM and go from there.
I have both a Desktop and a Notebook from HP, and I think you are making a wise choice with HP. I appreciate their helpfullness and online courses (FREE) that is available plus automatic updates for drivers, etc.
If I may make some suggestions, go for the largest screen you can afford.
Go for the largest HDD you can afford. Get the most RAM you can afford.
Another helpful site is CNET.COM. They are always keeping me up to date on electronic goodies and have wonderful advice on consumer goods.
I would like to know the lifespan of a HP envy 17, or the anticipated lifespan. I hope it is around 5-7 years.
