Having problems downloading iOS 5 for my iPhone! PLEASE HELP!?
Omg so I’ve been trying to download iOS 5 for my iPhone 3 or 3GS (I’m not sure which one it is) for the past 2 days and I finally finished downloading the new iTunes 10.5 beta or whatever since I read that you must download that in order to download iOS 5. Well, I plugged my phone in and I clicked on “Updates” and it says that my current version (4.2.1) is the latest version and there’s no updates needed! I am so mad and need a fix to this because I want the iOS 5 sooooooooooooooooooooooo very bad!!!!!!!! What can I do?!?!?!?!!! PLEASE HELP! Should I call apple Tech Support? THANK YOU!

Since the latest firmware for your phone is 4.2.1, you have an iPhone 3g. You cannot install iOS 5 on the IPhone 3G, because it’s just not powerful enough and too old. If you have an upgrade available on your line, I’d suggest upgrading to a later model (the 3GS is free, the iPhone 4 is $ 100, and the iPhone 4S is $ 200 for the base model).
I’m assuming you do have an upgrade because your phone is older than 2 years. You can check by dialing *DATA# (*3282#) and hitting Call from your phone’s dialpad. It will text you back (free) with your upgrade date, as well as text and data usage.
